The Winterwonderland® week Kids in Salla has been a popular trip for active families with (young) children for years. You can book this trip during the holiday weeks. During a holiday in Finnish Lapland with your children, enjoy unique Lappish winter activities in a setting of beautiful snow-capped hills, crackling fires, trees that bend under the weight of snow and ice, and beautifully colored skies. Winter Wonderland® is at its best in Salla! During this week you will experience special things together with your children and the Lappish guides and your children will get to know special people and animals.

Care
You stay 7 nights based on accommodation (except dinner buffet on Sunday evening and breakfast buffet on Monday morning) and 4x wilderness lunch.

Transfer time from Kuusamo airport: approx. 2 hours

Children
We recommend this trip for families with children from 3 to 13 years old. Do you want to book this trip with younger or older children? Please contact one of our travel specialists. 

PLEASE NOTE: To drive a snowmobile you must be at least 18 years old and in possession of a driving license.

Facilities
In the main building, you will find the reception with a small souvenir shop, a Finnish pub with a billiard table, and the cozy restaurant 'Kiela' where delicious local specialties are served and you can not only dine there but also have breakfast. Restaurant Kiela is a specialty restaurant with the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs qualification. Next to the main building is the safari house which serves as the departure point for the snowmobile safaris. You can also pick up your thermal equipment for the whole week here. 

Bungalows
There are five types of semi-detached bungalows, all standard equipped with an open kitchen with at least hotplatesatea s, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and dishwasher. The sitting and dining room has a TV, radio, free WiFi, and a fireplace. Bathroom with toilet, shower, hairdryer, and private sauna. You can dry your ski clothes in a drying cabinet and the bungalow has a washing machine. The decor is generally simple but practical and cozy. Unlimited firewood is included and you can also use items such as cleaning agent, dishwasher powder, and toilet paper.

34 m²: a semi-detached two-room bungalow with a separate bedroom for a maximum of two people.

48 m²: New, semi-detached two-room bungalow with a separate bedroom for a maximum of two people. 

45 m²: a semi-detached bungalow with two separate bedrooms.

75 m²: three-room bungalow with two separate bedrooms for two people, two toilets, and the option of an extra sleeping place on a mattress.

99 m²: four-room bungalow for up to seven people, with three separate bedrooms and two toilets.

Tip: we also have two larger bungalows available on request, of which one bungalow with four bedrooms with two single beds and one bungalow with one bedroom with two single beds, and two bedrooms with four single beds. Ideal for larger families during the holidays and spring break. Feel free to ask about the possibilities.

Nightlife
Sallatunturi is small-scale, yet there are a few places to go out and you always run into acquaintances! Such as in the (dance) restaurant of Spa Hotel Holiday Club Salla, the pub "Papana Pupi" at restaurant Kiela and the ski bistro on the slopes.

Grocery store
In Sallatunturi there is a mini-supermarket within walking distance of the bungalow, in the lobby of Spa Hotel Holiday Club Salla. Here you can go for several groceries such as soft drinks, beer, chips, spreads, and toiletries. There are large and well-stocked supermarkets in the village of Salla, 10 km from Sallatunturi. You can sign up for the shuttle service (twice a week) that takes you back and forth for a small fee (approx. € 9 pp) so that you can do your shopping in peace. If you prefer convenience, book half board with the package so that breakfast and dinner are already arranged in restaurant Kiela.
