The first Nigerian to win the $300,000 Dan David Prize, history professor Saheed Aderinto, has received congratulations from the United States Mission in Nigeria. The Mission shared the news on its Facebook page on Monday, recognizing Aderinto's achievement as the largest financial reward for excellence in the historical discipline worldwide. Aderinto, who is also the Founding President of the Lagos Studies Association, teaches African and African Diaspora Studies at Florida International University.
