How I See Things
Atiku is Nuhu Ribadu's in law. Their children are married.
Kwankwaso was one of the dignitaries at the wedding. Tinubu was father of the day.
Right now, Ribadu is following Tinubu about, not his in-law, Atiku. That has not caused Atiku and Ribadu to cease being in-laws. Guess what, their children are still married.
Buhari and Jonathan had a very stiff presidential contest in 2015 and bad blood was created along the line. Since then, I am yet to see a former President that's as close to his successor like Jonathan. At the drop of a hat, anytime GEJ demanded use of presidential jet, quickly Buhari would release it.
Tinubu and Atiku were both followers of late Gen Yaradua in the days of People's Front. They both cut their political teeth under the late General. When Atiku was chased out of PDP, he ran to Tinubu and TInubu gave him a safe haven and a platform to run for President under ACN.
The same Obasanjo that chased him out of PDP endorsed him for President under the same PDP in 2019.
Peter Obi was running mate to Atiku in 2019 under PDP. After Atiku clinched the PDP ticket few weeks ago, Peter Obi was one of the first to congratulate him. He called Atiku my elder brother and leader.
Tinubu mentored Osinbajo politically. Appointed him commissioner for Justice in Lagos and picked him to run with Buhari as VP in place of himself. They just slugged it out at the APC primary and after that have visited each other and Osinbajo would soon start campaigning for Tinubu.
People need to take a chill pill. We only support these politicians just like citizens of other nations support their own politicians. It is not a sin to support a politician of your choice, or a government. You support Jonathan govt, another support Buhari government. What you gave is support, you did not steal and your patriotism is not determined by which government you support. Its just preference!
These politicians don't make enemies of themselves, why should we name call each other or try to gauge patriotism or what anybody represent based on a politician or government they support?
If you feel Nigeria is crap right now and nothing is working. It does not make you more patriotic than another who believes we are a work in progress and making little progress. It's all perspective. It's the same way in all countries.
Rome was never built in a day. No leader can fix or turn Nigeria aroud to Dubai or whatever nation anybody dream about in a jiffy. Not even under a democracy.
Let's not always see every issue people raised as a no go area. No matter how sensitive the topic is, let's have a robust engagement without name calling. Let's encourage discourse on critical issues about our country.
You are not a saint for supporting Obi, Tinubu or Atiku. You are not also a sinner because you are not supporting any of them. Decisions to support a candidate is based on personal reasons and your outlook to how a nation should be led and who best to lead a nation at a particular time. Fact is we would all have varied reasons that informs our decision on who to support.
I just felt there is a need to put this out.
There is atrend going in now that can lead to destruction and raise high level in social vices if not carefully manage. I am not against this trend but I am warning because if not manage well it could affect us all. I see so much single mothers enduging and encouraging their young children male/female under 18 years to be showcasing dancing moves and other social vices such like encouraging their male children in yahoo yahoo. Infact, a single mother very close to me recently bought an iphone for a male child age 16 to do yahoo. Now this is absolutely the problem, we are breeding hook up children and yahoo to the extent that about 150 young guys were recently arrested at Ikorodu hotels. Young gals now do hook up as if it is normal thing to do. And all this is as a result of all this parental issues. Like I said earlier, I am only saying let's control this things otherwise Boko Haram and banditary is small compare to what this will creat in our society in the future. God help Nigeria
